The next World Tulip Summit will be held in Spalding, England on Thursday 1st May and Friday 2nd May 2008 and follows previous Summits in Ottawa (2002) and Canberra (2006).
The 2008 Summit programme will include topics such as the latest developments in the science and technology of tulips, florists tulips, species tulips and tulips in garden settings and some history of the discovery of the tulip.
In addition to the Summit there will be an exhibition of tulip art and memorabilia, a special English Florists' Tulips show presented by the Wakefield and North of England Tulip Society and a Summit Celebration Flower Arranging display hosted by the UK's Flowers and Plants Association.
For those wishing to see more of the South Holland area there will be a number of tulip walks mapped out in many local villages around Spalding as part of a Fens region TulipMania Festival and the 50th Spalding Tulip Parade will take place on Saturday 3rd May. The theme for 2008 is "Thanks for the Memories".
